PHMSA EDUCATION PATHWAY

DOT SAP Education for PHMSA-Regulated Professionals

Employees performing covered operations, maintenance, and emergency-response functions on pipeline or LNG facilities. Education is designed to support a DOT-qualified SAP's individualized recommendation—not replace it.

INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC CONTEXT

Education connected to the work behind the regulation.

The PHMSA pathway connects the shared curriculum to high-consequence pipeline and LNG work, where readiness, judgment, communication, and prevention support public and environmental safety.

What this program does—and does not do

  • The program is education, not a PHMSA certification or operator qualification.
  • The SAP retains responsibility for the individualized Part 40 recommendation.
  • The employer or operator retains all separate compliance responsibilities.

COMMON QUESTIONS

About the PHMSA pathway

Is this an operator-qualification course?

No. Beyond the Violation provides drug and alcohol safety education that may support a SAP recommendation. It is not operator-qualification training or a PHMSA certification.

Are pipeline and LNG employees placed in a separate curriculum?

They use the same progressive core educational engine, supported by industry-specific framing and a clearly stated PHMSA regulatory context.
